Mark Dooley received his Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 2002, and earned a Master’s in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College in 1993. Mark is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (WA license number LH00009203), Child Mental Health Specialist, WA State Approved Clinical Supervisor, WA State Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs Provider, and a Neurodivergent Affirming Clinician. In 2023, he surpassed 28,000 hours of direct psychotherapy, including psychiatric inpatient, intensive outpatient, integrated healthcare, wilderness, in-home, and private practice settings. Mark recently presented his Discovery/Acceptance/Integration/Expression model of Autistic identity to the Cultural Autism Studies at Yale Autistic Ethnography Project.

Since 1986, Mark Dooley has worked and studied in the fields of advocacy, social justice, ecology, and mental health. Along with his clinical training and experience, Mark's therapy utilizes graduate research on mutually healing relationships with nature, and is informed by mindfulness, travel, friendship, and family.

Mark Dooley sees all age groups, treats most psychiatric diagnoses, and practices individual, family, and couples therapy. He specializes in adolescent and young adult populations and is clinically trained in a variety of approaches to child, adolescent, and adult mental health. His work is influenced by Existential Theory’s emphasis on revealing and addressing healthy anxiety in search of meaning, Process Oriented insight and change, Family Systems view of people in the context of their closest relationships, and multiple variations of psychodynamic, transpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Mark is also educated and practiced in Ecotherapy. Further professional training and experience includes adult/adolescent/child Autism Spectrum, Autism Spectrum/Non-Spectrum relationships, trauma survivors, LGBTQIA+/GRSD adult/youth, Native American populations, HIV+, homeless youth, suicide prevention, infidelity, medical psychotherapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Lifespan Integration, foster and adoptive families, clinical supervision, canine therapy, parenting and mental health assessments, and legal testimony.

Mark Dooley’s own neurodivergent journey inspires his wonder for our multifaceted human experience, abiding appreciation of individual uniqueness, and facilitation of interpersonal connectivity. These qualities infuse Mark’s psychotherapeutic care and collaboration with his clients and their cultures.
